This launching appliance has been designed, built and tested in full compliance with the requirements of Regulations 4 and 34, Chapter III of International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as Amended, Part 1 and Part 2 of MSC. 81(70) Revised Recommendation on Testing of Life-saving Appliance, as amended by MSC.216(82) , MSC.425(98) as well as MSC.48(66) International Life-saving Appliance Code amendments MSC.218(82) , MSC.427(98) and CCS Construction & Inspection Specifications for Fixed Platform In shallow Sea and IMO Mode Code 2009. This platform davit is a special lifesaving appliance installed on offshore drilling unit, matched with boat winch for escaping and lifesaving on offshore. It has enough strength and rigidity together with reliable working performance to lower boat by gravity and to hoist boat by electrical and manual ways with boat winch. The operator can view the lifeboat during lowering and hoisting. In emergency, all passengers can enter into the boat and remotely control the boat winch within the boat to ensure the boat to drop into water quickly so as to evacuate. The boat is turned out and lowered by means of remote control that the crew can release and stop the hand brake of the winch from inside of the boat via wire connection to the brake arm and wire spool on the small drum. Alternatively the crew can operate the hand brake on the deck.
