This launching appliance has been designed, built and tested in full compliance with the requirements of Regulations 4 and 34, Chapter III of International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea, 1974, as Amended, Part 1 and Part 2 of MSC. 81(70) Revised Recommendation on Testing of Life-saving Appliance, as amended by MSC.226(82) and MSC. 427(98), and Chapter I and VI of MSC. 48(66) International Life-saving Appliance Code, as Amended by MSC. 218(82) and MSC. 425(98). The equipment is a single-arm slewing type with hydraulically driven slewing, which can be used to rotate the boat or raft outboard in the event of power loss by means of an accumulator or a hand pump. This launching appliance relies on the self-weight of the rescue boat/raft itself to release the boat/raft, which can be continuously and quickly released to the water surface in a very short time. After boarding the boat, the crew can control the one-way slewing by the remote control wire rope, and control the winch hammer to realise the lowering of the rescue boat/raft, and also can directly operate the winch hammer on the deck to realise the lowering action. The electric winch for this launching appliance can be used to recover a rescue boat with a crew of 6 people.
